WooCommerce packing video plugins compared: URL fields vs sealed proof

On this page
Competitor details are taken from their public pages, checked October 2026.
Search WordPress.org for "packing video" and most of what comes back is packing slip and PDF invoice plugins. Narrow it to packing video proof and two plugins remain: PallasMark for WooCommerce and TechWizard Packing Video Link for WooCommerce. Search for packaging records and a third name appears, Ombel, which does a different job entirely.
This comparison reads each plugin's own listing, prices the realistic routes a WooCommerce seller has, and shows what a complete evidence system adds. The how-to side is in how to record packing video proof on WooCommerce.
The WooCommerce packing proof plugins on WordPress.org
Three plugins come up when WooCommerce sellers look for packing proof, and each one does a distinct job.
TechWizard Packing Video Link for WooCommerce
TechWizard's plugin saves a packing video URL on the order and emails it to the customer. Its WordPress.org page lists version 1.0.0, first added in September 2026 and updated in October 2026, and describes these functions:
- Save one current packing video URL on each order, and open, update or delete it.
- Show an optional packing video column in the order list.
- Manually send a WooCommerce-styled email with the video button to the billing address, the account address or both, with each send logged as a private order note.
- Use the site mailer or an optional SMTP connection; HPOS and legacy order storage are supported.
Its FAQ is refreshingly direct. It says the plugin does not record or upload videos; it stores a URL for a video recorded and uploaded somewhere else. It also states: "A stored external URL alone is not an immutable, certified, or legally guaranteed proof." The plugin is free; the developer's page describes no license key or limits.
Ombel Packaging Records for WooCommerce
Ombel records which packaging materials went out with each order, for packaging-waste reporting. Its WordPress.org page describes packaging profiles with component weights, product and variation assignment, order packaging snapshots and material totals, with preparation views for countries such as Spain, Poland, Austria, Italy and Denmark. The local features are free. It is a sound tool for that job; the listing does not describe photo or video capture of the pack.
PallasMark for WooCommerce
PallasMark for WooCommerce connects the store to a complete evidence system. Its WordPress.org page describes a one-time token connection that registers order webhooks, a read-only PallasMark evidence panel on classic and HPOS order screens, and proof status links on customer order views when a buyer-visible link exists. Recording happens in the PallasMark app on iPhone or Android, or in a browser, and the proof is written back to the WooCommerce order as a private note and hidden meta. The plugin is free, and PallasMark has a free plan with no card. Integration details are on the WooCommerce integration page.

Why a link on the order is not proof yet
A video link stored on the order answers "where is the clip?" but not the two questions a dispute reviewer asks: is this really that order, and has the file changed? A link also lands in the wrong format for card disputes.
WooPayments' dispute guide says merchants usually have 7 to 21 days to respond and only one chance to submit evidence, with no way to add more afterwards. Stripe's dispute best practices accept only PDF, JPEG or PNG files and advise against pointing the reviewer to content on separate drives or websites.
So the evidence has to arrive as a document, the first time, with something in it a reviewer can trust without clicking away. That is the gap between a URL field and an evidence system. The full capture standard is in our packing video evidence checklist.
What each route costs per year
The plugins are free, so the real cost sits in the recording setup around them. Here is one realistic store, 300 orders a month across two packing benches, priced from each vendor's own page.
| Route | What you pay for | Yearly cost |
|---|---|---|
| TechWizard plugin | Free plugin, plus a camera, a video host you choose and a person uploading each clip and pasting its URL. At an assumed 30 seconds per order, that is 2.5 hours a month | $0 in software, about 30 staff hours |
| Ombel | Free local features, but it records packaging materials, not footage | Not a packing video route |
| vAudit (station tool) | $50 per station per month with 30-day storage, +$25 per station per month for 90-day storage, per its pricing page. WooCommerce is not among the integrations named there | $1,200 (2 stations), $1,800 with 90-day storage |
| PackingProof (desktop tool) | Standard at $39.90 a year per its site, on a Windows 10 PC with 8 GB RAM, 1 TB storage, a branded webcam and a barcode scanner per bench | From $39.90 plus a PC, webcam and scanner per bench |
PallasMark: the plugin is free and so is the starting plan, with no card, no hardware to buy and no per-station or per-camera fees. Every phone on the team records, and the verification page, buyer approval and evidence PDF are included from the first order. Paid plans are billed yearly; see pricing.
The hidden cost of the free-link route is not the software. It is the manual step on every order and the day a dispute arrives and the link points to a file nobody can show was untouched.
Where PallasMark goes further on WooCommerce
PallasMark goes further by making the recording, the seal, the buyer's decision and the dispute file one flow attached to the WooCommerce order.
- Orders arrive on their own. After the one-time token connection, new orders flow in through WooCommerce webhooks, and one click pulls in your latest 100 past orders. Scanning the slip or label barcode opens the right order before the first frame.
- Sealed and checkable. Every stored file gets a SHA-256 fingerprint, and each proof has a public verification page that re-hashes the file on the spot. Buyers, banks and marketplace agents open it with no account. There is no edit button for recordings. See tamper-proof video.
- Proof on the order. A private note and hidden meta on every proofed order, a read-only evidence panel on the order screen, and proof links on the customer's order view when you share one. One switch turns write-back on or off.
- Buyer approval before dispatch. Hold a high-value parcel and send the sealed recording with one tap. The buyer approves or reports an issue through a link with no app or password; watch time is recorded in seconds. See buyer approval.
- The buyer films the return. WooCommerce orders get a one-tap button that asks the buyer to film or photograph the returned item and packaging, with a response window from 1 to 168 hours. See return evidence.
- A dispute file in the right format. On request, a PDF with four stills from each video (up to six videos), order details, photos, fingerprints, approval, return evidence, and the carrier and tracking number read from WooCommerce shipment tracking. You download it and upload it yourself. See chargeback evidence.
- Room to grow. The same account adds Shopify, ShipStation, ShipHero and Amazon, plus warehouse records for receiving and loading if you outgrow the spare room.
Switch to sealed proof in an afternoon
Setting up PallasMark on WooCommerce takes an afternoon because the only thing installed on your site is an ordinary plugin, and the recordings are stored in PallasMark, not in your media library.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a WooCommerce plugin that records packing videos?
Yes. PallasMark for WooCommerce is a free plugin on WordPress.org that connects your store to PallasMark, where staff record packing video and photos on iPhone, Android or a browser. The recording is bound to the order, sealed with a SHA-256 fingerprint and written back to the WooCommerce order. The other packing video plugin on WordPress.org, from TechWizard, stores a link to a video you recorded and uploaded elsewhere.
What does the TechWizard Packing Video Link plugin do?
According to its WordPress.org page, it saves one packing video URL on each WooCommerce order, shows an optional column in the order list and lets an authorized user manually send the customer a WooCommerce-styled email with the video link. Its FAQ says it does not record or upload videos, and that a stored external URL alone is not an immutable, certified or legally guaranteed proof.
Is Ombel a packing video plugin?
No. Ombel Packaging Records for WooCommerce records the packaging materials and weights used for new orders, for packaging-waste reporting preparation in several European countries. It is useful for that job, but its listing does not describe photo or video capture of the pack.
Can I put packing videos in the WordPress media library instead?
You can, but media library files are served from a public uploads URL with no access control by default, they inflate every site backup and they use your host's bandwidth. They are also tied to the order only by a filename or note someone typed. Keeping recordings outside the site, bound to the order and fingerprinted, avoids all of that.
Will a packing video link work as evidence in a WooPayments or Stripe dispute?
Not on its own. WooPayments says you have one chance to submit evidence, and Stripe's dispute guidance accepts only PDF, JPEG or PNG files and advises against linking to content on separate drives or websites. PallasMark builds an evidence PDF with four stills from each recorded video, the order details, fingerprints and the carrier and tracking number read from WooCommerce shipment tracking, which you download and upload yourself.
How much does packing video proof cost on WooCommerce?
The plugins themselves are free: TechWizard and Ombel at no cost, and PallasMark for WooCommerce with a free PallasMark plan and no card. Station-based tools cost more: vAudit lists 50 dollars per station per month, and PackingProof lists 39.90 dollars a year but needs a Windows 10 PC with 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, a webcam and a barcode scanner at each bench.
Can the buyer approve the packing video before a WooCommerce order ships?
With PallasMark, yes. You hold the parcel and send the buyer the sealed recording with one tap; they open a link with no app, account or password and choose Approve or Report an issue. The record keeps how many seconds they watched, and you decide when the parcel leaves.
